OIV, in cooperation with Telemach, has enabled OIV DAB+ digital radio coverage in the Marjan Tunnel in Split, one of the city’s key transport corridors. The project further improves the listener experience in Dalmatia and continues the expansion of the national digital radio network into transport infrastructure.

The system, implemented with partner TEB Inženjering d.d., rebroadcasts the outdoor DAB+ signal inside the 870-metre tunnel, ensuring uninterrupted reception of digital radio programmes for drivers.

According to OIV radio systems expert Davor Ilijaš, the project involved planning, design, and equipment procurement during March and April 2026, followed by testing and commissioning in May. The aim was to ensure reliable reception of the DAB+ MUX 1 signal in this high-traffic area.

The initiative was originally proposed by Telemach, with approvals obtained from the City of Split after initial assessments and measurements. Installation was carried out during tunnel maintenance works in November 2024.

Beyond improving everyday listening, the project also has a safety dimension, enabling the transmission of important alerts and service information when needed. It represents another step in the ongoing development of OIV’s DAB+ network and its mission to make digital radio accessible along key transport routes.
