OIV marked its 100th anniversary on 20 May with a formal ceremony at Mozaik Event Centre in Zagreb, attended by partners, employees, and distinguished guests.
From its first radio signal in 1926 to today’s advanced digital infrastructure, OIV has evolved from a traditional broadcasting system into a modern operator of critical communications infrastructure.
In his address, OIV Board Member and Director Denis Nikola Kulišić noted that 100 years is not only a milestone, but also a reflection of the knowledge and dedication of generations who built a system of national importance, stressing the responsibility to continue developing this legacy for future generations.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure Oleg Butković underlined OIV’s strategic importance, describing it as a key pillar of national infrastructure and security, and a successful example of combining tradition with innovation.
During the ceremony, special recognitions were awarded to long term partners, including the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, Croatian Radio television, and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER), in acknowledgment of their contribution to the development of national communications, broadcasting, and technological education.
The celebration reflected a century of growth built on the understanding that technology has real value only when it serves people. Looking ahead, OIV remains committed to its mission - to be the signal that connects generations.
